Historical allegations about Yogi Bhajan/3HO

The information at the bottom of this page was updated February 2020 following the publication of "Premka: White Bird in a Golden Cage: My Life with Yogi Bhajan" which has been added to our recommended additional reading list providing, as it does, an alternative source to the "official" accounts of the establishment of Yogi Bhajan's "mission in the West". KRI and the other "legacy organisations" announced (18 Feb 2020) an independent investigation into these historical allegations which concluded in August 2020. You will find the i-SKY responses and a link to the full report here

i-SKY have certified courses in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan since 1995 through KRI (Kundalini Research Institute USA). We believe KRI have dealt reasonably well with a very difficult situation in 2020 but our continued association with KRI beyond 2021 remains in question. Should we not be offering KRI course beyond 2021 our courses will continue to enjoy internationally recognised accreditation through Yoga Alliance Professionals. As i-SKY is a registered training school with YAP our current and former students may also register with them if they wish to see yogaallianceprofessionals.org

Important note about coursework submission:

From 2018 coursework must be submitted within 6 months of the completion of scheduled attendance i.e. the last weekend of the course schedule on your application form - after this time a Late Submission Fee of £50 will be charged.

If you miss a weekend then you should submit all your coursework by the end of the month in which you actually attend your final weekend - after this time a Late Submission Fee of £50 will be charged.

An application to submit coursework later than 12 months after completion of attendance may be considered but will attract a Late Submission Fee of £150.

KRI registration expires after 2 years and recognition of prior course attendance and late certification after this point will require a new Registration Fee of £200 to be paid and may necessitate additional course attendance.

This is a random collection of resources which we think have merit and that you should be aware of rather than "must be read" as part of the course.

Alternative History. This 2012 paper by Philippe Deslippe addressed concerns that the history of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan was primarily sourced from Yogi Bhajan/3HO - in so doing Deslippe created an academic niche for himself and has continued to write on the roots of yoga in the USA. Download

Early 3HO. A 2020 autobiography by Yogi Bhajan's "right hand woman" Premka lifts the covers on what she found it like to be there through the formation of 3HO. Amazon (other booksellers are of course available).

i-SKY - Happy 21st Birthday

Thanks to i-SKY I have been able to experience a never-ending neutral love. There is nothing better in my experience. During training old patterns fell away and we all blossomed. I have been able to see myself honestly and embrace all of me. Relationships, perspectives, energy, all improved. At the end of training I glowed, attracting all that was right for me. I was filled with trust in the world. It is more than visionary to establish such a school. It is courageous and committed. Darryl,The Livtar's Guru Dharam, Benjahmin (and other students) are the conduits that bring the tool box that is Kundalini Yoga. Whatever ails- there is something in the tool box to help. Its strong enough to sustain you way after the training ends, if you allow it. I had no idea what was coming next- without this training, and its ability to heal, I would not have survived what did. I am forever grateful. I-sky are there if I email. Darryl reminds me to Keep Up. They are fortification of joy, grit, growth accompanying me in spirit, called upon whenever I need. Its massive. Students continue to grow me- bringing me dark gifts such as stress, broken hearts, mitochondrial sickness, ovarian cancer, thyroid, interview nerves; they name it, and we work on it together. And all the while behind this ongoing practise, behind I-sky's invaluable school, are Yogi Bhajan's teachings. He is - in my minds eye- as he was the day my training ended. I was snivelling into my tissue. . I had felt suddenly afraid - that the love would end with my training. He was belly laughing at me "Its just beginning ..." he roared. I have kept the tissue. He has kept his word. Love is the word. xx

Level 1 Teacher Training Course

Doing the Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training course was a life-changing experience for me. I had been going to classes for four years before making the decision to sign up, so was already familiar with the benefits that KY offers. Doing this course has enhanced my personal yoga practice to a new level, and I am now much better equipped to meet the challenges of Life in a positive manner and to learn from them. It has not always been an easy journey, but I would not hesitate to say it has been, and continues to be, the most wonderful experience you could wish for.
