OMG there is a part of me that feels uncomfortable in asking you for help.

But having felt that feeling - I going to do it anyway ❤️

I have a brain condition ataxia, which has become my close friend the past 8 month.

From writing books, owning a yogastudio, being self employed and being in service to sharing kundalini yoga, oils and consciousness - to living in a body where the cerebellum is shrinking. The function of walking, feeling myself in space, has gone, however, I am still so grateful I can still walk with a walker and/or cane now. Fine motorics belong to the past, speech is also a function controlled by the cerebellum is affected and so all functions will cease to function at some point.

This really sucks!!!

I have decided to get the most out of this human life I have been given and reach out!

Addressing historical concerns around Yogi Bhajan

You may have read Peace Lagoon - it is many peoples favourite English version of Japji. Well Pamela Dyson, the young woman who set down those words 50 years ago, has set down her own story now, in a short autobiography titled "Premka: White Bird in a Golden Cage: My Life with Yogi Bhajan" - and this bird is ruffling a lot of feathers. I shared this here because I did not want it to appear that we might ignore the serious and deep rooted concerns that her story raised. Some will be disturbed by the content and we can support and discuss with current students directly but past or future students can also reach out in the i-SKY Facebook groups: (open to all) OR (past students only)

On 25 Feb 2020 following "credible allegations" from "multiple women" the legacy organisations of Yogi Bhajan created a website ssscresponseteam.org to provide further information and ongoing updates about the independent investigation of all allegations.

Judy Fraser 1943-2018.

Our dear friend, colleague and confidante passed peacefully, at home, surrounded by her family, just before Christmas 2018. She continues to be much missed by many. After a moving celebratory memorial service her family invited contributions in her memory to be made to The Dorothy House Hospice charity. Contribution in memory of Judy Fraser.

#BLACK LIVES MATTER

Guru Dharam writes:

The law of Saturn decrees that “unlearned lessons” are re-presented within a cycle of 29 years.

The murder of George Floyd on May 25th, 2020, occurred nearly 29 years to the day after the American justice system failed to administer justice when Rodney King was badly beaten by five LA police officers, all of whom were acquitted of criminal charges, despite a graphic, 12-minute video recording. Black lives taken at the hands of over-zealous police are just as ghoulishly common in the US now as they were then, as officer after officer escapes accountability in the face of video evidence. This has been hideously demonstrated by the murder of George Floyd. But the subsequent demonstrations of global solidarity tell a different story. The turn of the wheel of Saturn has shifted us into the Aquarian Age, which is characterized by the collapse of old hierarchies as all our societal pillars are placed under the microscope of review. This includes the notions of justice, equality and common unity that we collectively demand are applied unilaterally irrespective of race, religion, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status. The violence and outrage we have seen over the past week in the protests throughout the US from the dispossessed, the disenfranchised, the exploited, and the alienated simply reflects our collective lack of care, inclusion, and recognition of our fellow brothers and sisters. We stand for justice, we stand for equality, we stand for an end to the systemic violence against Black Americans that has existed for the last four centuries. Just as we believe we must all do our part as individuals to constantly and actively combat racism and anti-blackness, and to use our privilege to make space for those who have been unjustly relegated to the sidelines of the system, we believe it is especially important to do so as members of the yogic community - which far too often fuanctions as a predominantly white space, despite its roots in India. We will be postponing this week’s Kundalini Cave Practice to next week in solidarity, and furthermore pledge to start (but not stop) addressing this issue within our own microcosm in the following ways: 1.We pledge to listen. If you are a Black yogi or a prospective student who has felt excluded by white spaces in the yoga world, and has the energy to let us know how we can make our spaces feel safer and more inclusive, we would love to know. 2.We pledge to help however we can. We understand there are a number of other potential barriers that might prevent a person from engaging in yogic practice. While we do not own or manage our own studio, we will do what we can to make our classes and trainings more accessible to Black yogis and yogis of color, economically or otherwise, by sharing resources and interfacing with the studios who host us on their behalf. 3. We pledge to keep learning and supporting. We can't put it any better than so many Black journalists, authors, and activists already have, so we are including a list of links below to meaningful articles, books, and organizations to donate to that will directly support Black lives, causes, and businesses. Breonna Taylor. Ahmaud Arbery. George Floyd. Tony McDade. And so many others. We will continue to say their names. We will continue to be involved in this fight. We welcome your thoughts. Black lives matter. Black healing matters.

i-SKY - Happy 21st Birthday

Thanks to i-SKY I have been able to experience a never-ending neutral love. There is nothing better in my experience. During training old patterns fell away and we all blossomed. I have been able to see myself honestly and embrace all of me. Relationships, perspectives, energy, all improved. At the end of training I glowed, attracting all that was right for me. I was filled with trust in the world. It is more than visionary to establish such a school. It is courageous and committed. Darryl,The Livtar's Guru Dharam, Benjahmin (and other students) are the conduits that bring the tool box that is Kundalini Yoga. Whatever ails- there is something in the tool box to help. Its strong enough to sustain you way after the training ends, if you allow it. I had no idea what was coming next- without this training, and its ability to heal, I would not have survived what did. I am forever grateful. I-sky are there if I email. Darryl reminds me to Keep Up. They are fortification of joy, grit, growth accompanying me in spirit, called upon whenever I need. Its massive. Students continue to grow me- bringing me dark gifts such as stress, broken hearts, mitochondrial sickness, ovarian cancer, thyroid, interview nerves; they name it, and we work on it together. And all the while behind this ongoing practise, behind I-sky's invaluable school, are Yogi Bhajan's teachings. He is - in my minds eye- as he was the day my training ended. I was snivelling into my tissue. . I had felt suddenly afraid - that the love would end with my training. He was belly laughing at me "Its just beginning ..." he roared. I have kept the tissue. He has kept his word. Love is the word. xx
